Rollin’ For A Cure

By  |

Everyone has heard of  ‘Walk For A Cure’.  I hope everyone has donated in the past and will continue to do so in the future.  A friend of  Rollin’s introduced us to Movember last year.  This is where men around the world grow mustaches during the month of November to raise money for prostate cancer awareness and ultimately a cure.  Did you know that 1:6 men are affected by prostate cancer?  A friend to many of you reading this, Dennis Newman, was diagnosed with prostate cancer 3 years ago.  He had the cancer removed but sadly, it has returned.   He has now  been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer.   Dennis is a Finish Carpenter by trade and is unable to work as a result of the cancer returning.   He has gone through radiation treatments for 3 weeks and just last week, went in for his first chemo treatment.    He will continue to go in for radiation and chemo, but he will not be able to go back to work.  Rollin’ is asking everyone out there to help the Newman family in any way they can.

Here are the ways you can help:

1.  Forward this post to every0ne in your email address book. You can hit the envelope button at the top, forward it to your home email and then forward out to all friends.  Ask everyone you know to do the same thing.

2.  Post this post on your facebook and any other social networks you belong to.  Ask everyone you know to do the same.  We want to get the word out.

3.  Participate in Rollin’ For  A Cure. On Saturday, November 27th, Rollin’ is sponsoring  a very fun evening for those who want to donate  to this worthy cause.    We will be having Bolt Transportation provide a ride in style with limo buses from a local bar in Scripps Ranch, to The Tilted Kilt in Downtown, San Diego.  The local bar, (to be announced soon!) as well as the Tilted Kilt have graciously offered to provide a portion of all proceeds on specific drink specials back to the Rollin’ For A Cure Foundation.  Remember, all funds donated to Rollin’ For A Cure go back to the Newman family.

To guarantee yourself a spot on the bus, you will need to raise a minimum of $40.00 for the Rollin’ For A Cure Foundation and sport your best mustache. (We don’t expect any of you to look as good as the Votels).  Ladies included; if you can grow one, please stay home and if you can’t, please wear a fake one of your choice.   Our gathering at the local bar,  will begin at 3PM.   The bus will be leaving at 5:00 to take us down to our next destination, The Tilted Kilt. For the $40 donated, you will receive a limited edition Rollin’ For A Cure tee shirt, limo bus ride with kegs and some great prizes for the most money raised, best mustache, worst mustache and more.  Buses will be taking people back to our starting point around 9PM.  Dennis will be attending the event pending how he feels.

To reserve your spot on the bus you need to hit this button and pay your $40 now.  If you just want to mail a check please make payable to Rollin’ For A Cure and mail to 11951 Windom Peak Way, San Diego, CA 92131 and please include your name and email.

As of now, we have 40 spots available for the limo buses.  If we get lots of interest and tons of you sign up, we will get additional buses!  Again, the minimum to get a spot on the bus is $40 but we don’t expect just $40.   Put your razor away and start growing today.  Put your own $40 on your credit card now and then go around your office, neighborhood and kid’s school and ask every person for just $5 to help with Rollin’ For A Cure.  20 people will get you $100 for those who can’t count to 11 without using their toes.   If you are not able to come to Scripps Ranch for the limo bus, you can still participate in the very worthy cause.  Hit that paypal button and donate a minimum of $30.  This will reserve you a tee shirt at the The Tilted Kilt for the evening.

We will also have a professional photographer,Troy Ladmirault, of  ipleaseingphotography,  taking photos of the event. Troy has also donated his time for this worthy event. Our goal is to raise as much money as we can for this cause and bring as much attention to it as we can.  Send us your before and after photos of your mustaches as they grow and we will post them on the site.

Get Growing!   If you will not be able to attend, you can still donate.  If you donate  the minimum,  you will be mailed a limited edition tee shirt supporting Dennis’ cause.  Thanks in advance to everyone helping out.

John is a badass motha fucka
